This site is a tribute to Michael Beaver who sadly passed away on Friday 10th June after a long illness.
He was married to Yvonne for 56 years and was very proud of this three children, Andrew, David and Suzanne, and his eight grandchildren - Amy, Megan, Kat, Harry, Dylan, Florence, Wilfred and Alfie. He was delighted to welcome his first great grandson, Luca, to the family last year, and equally delighted to know another great grand child was on the way.
He enjoyed a long career in the wine trade and was a very successful wine merchant selling to all the major the supermarkets and was a stalwart for his industry, administering and lecturing students to a diploma level in wine studies. For this he achieved the Freedom of the City of London in 1986.
He also had strong roots with Christ College, Blackheath, where he boarded and later founded the Old Boys Association, as well as returning as a Bursar and taking the time to visit the college in more recent years to share his experiences of the war with the preparatory children.
He will be much missed by all his family, including his younger sister and brother, Maggie & Simon, together with the 'Old Boys' from Christ College, and those in Watford who he met as part of his time with the Young Conservatives.
May you rest in peace.
